How it Works

Welcome to the Big Brush Club, where we're all about helping children have healthy smiles!

Our mission is simple… we want to support nurseries and schools in areas where children are dealing with dental problems to help tackle this before it becomes a lifetime concern. We believe in teaching children the importance of brushing their teeth from a young age, as this helps to build good habits that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

It’s amazing the lasting impact that the supervised toothbrushing scheme can provide to individuals and we’re excited to offer this opportunity across the Southwest.

Step 1: Register

Register to join Big Brush Club by filling out your school’s details on our Agreement Form.

Once you’re part of Big Brush Club, you get to decide the best way to brush in your school and when to do so. We make it super easy to fit into your school day; children just need to brush their teeth with fluoride toothpaste for two minutes a day to gain the lifelong benefits of their newly established routine.

Step 2: Training

Big Brush Club offers schools a short training session led by one of our friendly project facilitators.

Step 3: Your kit arrives

We then provide all the kit you will need to get started, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toothbrush racks. This will be delivered to your school, either by your Project Facilitator or delivery service and we hope you enjoy looking through the package containing your toothbrushes, toothbrush racks, and more!

Step 4: The brushing begins

We’re also here to support you along the way with your school’s supervised toothbrushing journey, and the good news is that the process each day is conveniently brief. It takes just 5 minutes a day and works well with the mandatory oral health curriculum. You may wish to display one of our Reward Charts on your classroom wall to motivate children.

We hope that you and the children at your school are as excited about this initiative as we are!

Why do we do this?

We noticed a significant problem when we looked at the National Dental Epidemiology reports. The reports showed that many children were experiencing tooth decay. In fact, the latest report from 2022 said that 23% of 5-year-olds in the Southwest had dental decay.

Let’s work together to change this and help children to have healthier smiles.
